
A Rare Zuni Katsina Doll
Standing tall, wearing a painted muslin manta with wool tassels. Mask features include large pop eyes, long tubular snout, green horns, black sheep wool, painted and dyed legal feathers.
Shalako is the most important ceremony at Zuni, usually taking place the first Saturday in December. The Hopi Shalako seems to have faded away in the early 20th century.
